The problem

Using Notion as a CRM works great, until you copy-paste every lead by hand

Notion as a CRM is cheap, flexible, and already set up the way you think. The only pain is data entry: switch tabs, copy the name, copy the website, paste, repeat. This extension removes that step.

The old way

  • Open Notion in another tab and hunt for the right database
  • Copy and paste name, website, and LinkedIn one field at a time
  • Add the same lead twice because you forgot it was already there
  • Lose your half-typed lead when the tab closes

With Lead to Notion

  • Open the side panel right next to the page you're reading
  • Fill one short form, and the card title writes itself
  • Get a warning before you save a lead you already have
  • Your draft auto-saves, so nothing is ever lost
What it does

Three tabs, one job: keep your CRM current

Lead to Notion turns your database into a working Notion sales CRM. Capture new leads, log what happened, and see your pipeline, all without leaving the page you're on.

New lead

Type a name, drop in a website, and the card title fills itself as Name x Company. Deal value, service, and source come with smart defaults, so most leads take about ten seconds.

  • Card title auto-composes from the website
  • Warns you before you save a duplicate
  • Your draft auto-saves as you type

Add note

Search a card by name and append a note, date-stamped for you. Move it to a new stage and mark it contacted today. A fast way to log a call or a reply without opening Notion.

  • Every note gets today's date stamp
  • Change the deal stage in one click
  • Tick the box to log contact for today

Pipeline

See deal value by stage on a simple chart, with a count and total for each. A weighted forecast shows what the pipeline is really worth today. Hit refresh to recompute the numbers.

  • Deal value summed by stage
  • Weighted forecast by win chance
  • Open the full CRM in one click
Setup

Build a CRM with Notion in three steps

No code, no new tool to learn. If you can paste a link, you can set this up. Here is the whole Notion CRM setup guide.

1

Connect your Notion

Make a free Notion integration, copy the token, and paste it with your database link into the settings page. Click Test connection to confirm.

2

Fill the form

Click the toolbar icon to open the side panel. Add a lead's name and website while you read their page. The panel stays open the whole time.

3

Hit save

Press Save to Notion and the lead is in your database, tagged as a new lead. That's it. Open it in Notion any time to read your notes.

Under the hood

Notion CRM features you get out of the box

Small touches that make a plain database feel like real software. These Notion CRM capabilities are on by default, with nothing to configure.

Card title writes itself

The title fills in as Name x Company from the website you enter. Edit it any time. It just stops auto-filling once you do.

Duplicate guard

Before it saves, it checks your database for the same website or LinkedIn. If it's already there, you get a heads-up with the card's name.

Date-stamped notes

Every note you add is prefixed with the date, so the card body reads like a running log of what happened and when.

Weighted forecast

The pipeline tab weights each stage by its chance of closing, so your forecast reflects reality, not just the sum of every open deal.

Adapts to your columns

It reads your database and matches your real column types and options. Rename something? Point it at the new column on the settings page.

Auto-saves and matches Notion

Your half-typed lead is saved as a draft until you hit save. Light and dark mode follow your system, so it looks at home next to Notion.

Questions

Common questions, answered

Is Notion a CRM?
Not out of the box, but it makes a very good one. A CRM is just a place to track people and deals, and a Notion database does that well. It becomes one the moment you add a leads database. This extension is the fast way to fill it.
How do I use Notion as a CRM?
Make a database with columns for the person, their company, a deal value, and a stage (Lead, Qualified, Proposal, and so on). That's the core of how to use Notion as a CRM. Then install Lead to Notion so you can add and update cards without copy-pasting. Plenty of people already use Notion as CRM software and love how flexible it is.
Do I need a special Notion setup?
No. Any database with a title and a few properties works. Whether you want a simple personal CRM Notion setup or a full team pipeline, the extension reads your columns and adapts to them. Follow the three steps above and you're running in a few minutes.
Is it really free?
Yes. Lead to Notion is free and open source. For now you download it as a ZIP and load it into Chrome yourself. A one-click Chrome Web Store version is coming later.
Is my data safe?
Your Notion token is stored locally on your own device and is only ever sent to Notion's API. Nothing runs on our servers. There are no servers. Your leads live in your Notion workspace, same as always.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Setup is paste-a-token-and-link. The one slightly technical part (loading an unpacked extension) is four clicks, and the steps are written out in the download instructions.
